Emergency Financial/Food Outreach Program
CCHASM receives calls from community residents, Monday-Thursday between the hours of 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Our screening process is very thorough, aiding in discernment of legitimate needs and core issues as opposed to chronic on-going needs. CCHASM might assist in such areas as: utilities, rent, medicine and other emergency needs as they are presented. Funding to meet these needs is obtained from membership contributions, grants and donations.
CCHASM works with 15 Alliance Food Pantries to provide emergency food.
Thanksgiving Meal Gift Package Program
Annually, CCHASM coordinates this meal package program to assist those in our community who might otherwise not have the resources to celebrate this special holiday. Working in collaboration with schools, businesses, churches, individuals, and agencies in Chesterfield and Colonial Heights, we bring together volunteers, food and financial resources.
Emergency Disaster Relief Program
This is a proactive program, to assist the Chesterfield Department of Emergency Management in addressing areas of need in the event of a community disaster.
Career Clothes Closet
Many of CCHASM’s clients are women, who through emergency situations, find they must begin or return to work. CCHASM provides “office appropriate” clothing in the way of suits, pants, blouses, and shoes, to women who need either interview or work attire.
