11 Year Old Entrepreneur donates profits to CCHASM

The young (11 year old) small business owner of Weaving Rainbows met with Mary Anne Weeks of Chesterfield Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry (CCHASM) to discuss her craft business. Her website shows examples of her colorful hand –woven potholders and lists the tagline: Supporting Charities Through Crafts. She proudly made her first donation to CCHASM in the amount of $80!
When she was 9 years old she helped package food at her church for the Generosity Feast Project. This sparked a compassion for others that led to the creation of Weaving Rainbows. She began weaving pot holders and selling them at her brother’s summer lemonade stands. As her business expanded, she sold her crafts at Winterpock Elementary School in their Holiday Shop and at the Magnolia Green Farmers Market.
What an inspiring young woman! Each pot holder takes about 20 minutes to make and they are available in a variety of assorted colors. CCHASM is grateful for her generous donation! More information about Weaving Rainbows can be found at www.weavingrainbows1.doodlekit.com.
About CCHASM:
In 1988, CCHASM (www.cchasm.org) was formed through a collaborative effort between the communities of Chesterfield – Colonial Heights and the Department of Social Services. The vision at that time was to create an organization which would be able to work with community members as well as with Social Service agencies to acquire and employ multiple resources and through this synergy increase the ability to assist more area residents as a unified group than any member could do as an individual unit. Today, CCHASM stills functions under the same principle: “We are stronger together than we are apart.”
