CCHASM is a non-profit 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, organization working cooperatively with government and community agencies to care for the emergency needs of the citizens of Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, and Prince George, Virginia. Mission: To provide access to food, financial assistance, and career clothing to area residents who have experienced or are experiencing an emergency situation which threatens their survival needs.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
CCHASM is seeking a part time Director of Fund Development. This position includes responsibility for all aspect of fund development planning and implementation; including: identification of, communication with and stewardship of annual and recurring donors, managing online fundraising activities, and managing donor facing aspects of gift processing and acknowledgement. The position requires coordination of elements designed to enhance positive relations with all donors.
The individual in this position will seek private funding support for the Chesterfield / Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry (CCHASM) annual operating needs by focusing on the donor base in the greater Richmond Area with an emphasis on individual giving and building relationships that also engage a number of corporate and foundation donors.
A Bachelor’s degree and minimum of three years’ experience with major gift solicitation and campaign experience. Experience in a mission driven, human-services organization is desirable. Prior experience with individual giving, annual giving, and/or online giving preferred.
Seek private funding support for annual operating needs and campaign initiatives. Work effectively with Executive Director to establish donor meetings, and guide relationships from origination to financial support.
Establish a robust annual giving program starting from a small but loyal donor base.
Develop and spearhead annual fundraising plans, achieving annual milestones and creating effective measurements and reports.
Manage all aspects of direct mail and online solicitations and other mailings to individual donors.
Visit approximately 15 donors/prospects every month to fully engage CCHASM donors.
Support efforts to target foundations and corporations in Virginia for outright gifts, sponsorship and cause-related marketing ventures.
Work with CCHASM volunteers to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors.
Promote CCHASM activities and accomplishments to donors and prospects to strengthen the CCHASM brand. Develop and disseminate content on all social media platforms.
Identify, strategically cultivate and solicit a portfolio of existing and new qualified funders. Design and implement individualized stewardship plans with a focus on expanding relationships.
Coordinate with Executive Director to ensure proper entry of gifts and timely acknowledgement.
