Volunteer Opportunities
MA Weeks Thanksgiving Program 2023. Volunteer slots are full for this year. Check back in Fall 2024 to support the event in November 2024.

With help from 500+ volunteers in 2022, CCHASM prepared meal bags for 12K
residents from Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, and
Prince George.

Through generous donations and caring hands, we can reach our goal of providing
a Thanksgiving Meal Gift Package!

All volunteer opportunities are at Chesterfield County Fairgrounds in the Exhibition Center:

** ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE PRE-REGISTERED, OVER 12+ YEARS OLD **

Typically, we have volunteer slots through the week. This year's time slots are days/times below.

Monday, November 13th, 9 AM - 12:00 PM (set-up crew/sorting/packing)

Tuesday, November 14th, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (sorting/packing)

Wednesday, November 15th, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (sorting/packing)

Thursday, November 16th, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM (sorting/packing)

Friday, November 17th from 8:00 AM-12:00 PM (distribution to elderly and homebound and final packaging, home delivery preparation)

Saturday, November 18th, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Package Distribution/clean-up crew)

Q1. Where do volunteers go when they arrive? Register at the Volunteer Desk.
Q2. May I register for multiple shifts or on different days? Yes, you may volunteer as long as you wish.
Q3. Will volunteers be indoors/outdoors at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds? Yes, please dress accordingly and be prepared for inclement weather.
Q4. May I register a group or a team? Yes, we encourage volunteer groups! Each volunteer must be age 12+ and register online or onsite.
Q5. What if I cannot stay for the full shift listed, or I must depart early? No problem. We appreciate your time!
